PE ist sehr robust und äußerst beständig gegen Abrasionen.
Druckluftmembranpumpen aus leitfähigen PE werden vor allem Ex-Zonen eingesetzt. Sie können dauerhaft in der Ex-Zone 0 betrieben werden.
